Secrets of Seča and Salt Pans

A lively walk along the Portorož marina takes us to the Seča Peninsula. We’ll visit the private “Grašič” cactus collection with over 1600 species. Stairs lead us to Forma Viva, where we’ll admire an open-air exhibition of international stone sculptures. We’ll take a short break in the pleasant park, feeling the peace and enjoying views of Portorož from a different angle. The Soline story will captivate us as we admire the unique “bridge” of St. Jerome’s Channel with its old wooden vessels. We’ll immerse ourselves in this peaceful corner of Portorož, the Seča Peninsula, with views of the sea and the salt pans.

At the “top” of Seča, we’ll engage in a fun team activity: Salt Worker for a Day, where we’ll try our hands at salt-making tasks, donning salt workers’ hats and wooden clogs. A prize will be drawn for the next adventure. We’ll then visit Gramona Farm, where host Nina will tell us the farm’s story, explaining the olive harvesting and processing methods. During an olive oil tasting, we’ll savor flavored olive oils with orange and lemon. Fresh bread with homemade olive spread will accompany the tasting, along with pickled olives, mozzarella, and a glass of good wine. Sometimes, activities such as olive picking or pruning may also be included.
